Detailed Clarification of Motorcycles & Tricycles Ban In Anambra State.

With regards to the announcement restricting the movement of tricycles and motorcycles in Anambra State with effect from Monday, 1st June, 2015, it has come to the knowledge of the State Government that the announcement has been misconstrued. The State Govenment hereby clarifies thus, that tricycles popularly called Keke Napep are only restricted from plying the Enugu-Onitsha and Onitsha-Owerri Expressways. They are to ply all other roads in Anambra State. While private motorcycles and commercial motorcycles otherwise called Okada are restricted from plying the Enugu-Onitsha and Onitsha-Owerri expressways and also the following designated roads in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi: Arthur Eze and Ziks avenues in Awka. Borromeo-Upper Iweka-Bridge Head road, Awka road, Old and New Market roads and Oguta road in Onitsha as well as Nnewi-Nnobi and Nnewi-Oba roads in Nnewi. Those who violate this directive would have their tricycles or motorcycles impounded or confiscated by the State Government.
